Buying a pass during the interrail sale: the benefits

There are many advantages to purchasing a pass during the Interrail sale. If you were already planning to travel across Europe by train, this sale is the perfect opportunity to get your Interrail pass at a lower price. However, even if your travel dates are not yet set in stone or you haven’t decided where you want to travel by train, you can still make use of this Interrail discount deal!

What makes an Interrail pass so convenient is that you can buy it now and activate it later once your travel dates are fixed. You have up to 11 months from the purchase date to activate your pass, giving you plenty of time to decide when and where you want to travel!

Unused and non-activated passes bought during the promotional sale can be fully refunded by the latest activation date specified, so if you end up without time to travel and cannot use your Interrail Pass, you can still get your money back.

Eurail sale: Buy your discounted eurail pass

You can also buy Eurail passes at a discount during the promotional sale!

While an Interrail pass is only available to residents of Europe, Eurail is designed for non-resident overseas tourists. However, both Interrail and Eurail work the same way in practice, as both these passes offer unlimited train travel across Europe. These passes are essentially identical, except for their names and eligibility.

Take a look at and purchase one of the discounted Eurail passes below if you’re live outside of Europe but wish to travel across the continent by train.

Interrail: How does it work?

With an Interrail or Eurail pass in hand, you can enjoy unlimited train travel through Europe within a set timeframe. Almost all train operators Europe accept Interrail passes. With an Interrail pass, you can travel by train to destinations as far as Inverness in the northwest, Athens in the southeast, Lisbon in the southwest, Rovaniemi in the northeast, and everywhere in between on the European continent!

Perhaps the greatest aspect of Interrail is that the pass provides full flexibility, as it lets you board most trains without needing to purchase individual tickets for each journey, allowing pass holders to travel spontaneously. Read our main Interrail page to find out more about how an Interrail Pass works.

Different interrail passes

There are two types of Interrail and Eurail passes available. The Global Pass offers access to trains across 33 European nations, while the One Country Pass is ideal for those looking to explore just one country by train. There are also different durations to choose from: The Flexi pass provides flexibility, allowing unlimited travel on specific days within a set timeframe (e.g., five days in a month), while the continuous pass grants unlimited travel every day for the entire pass duration (e.g., one month). With these options, travellers can select the pass that aligns with their itinerary and budget. Additionally, Interrail and Eurail passes are available for both second-class and first-class travel.
